Life is but a Weaving

Ian,

The questions of "why?" and "what is God's purpose?" and "In God's sovereignty, He..." These are just too big for me. Heard this poem in GriefShare. Corrie ten Boom used to quote it apparently. She went through so much in life - the Nazi's, concentration camps, loss of mother, father, sister, loss of friends, redemption and world-wide ministry. Must have been a baffling and amazing journey. Reading the poem helped think about the big picture and trust God to make His grand tapestry for His glory. In the end, I don't understand. I guess, I don't want to understand. I must stop focusing on understanding and more on trusting, a little bit more each day.

Love you "e",

Dad

"My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me.
I cannot choose the colors
He weaveth steadily.

Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow;
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the underside.

Not ’til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And reveal the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned

He knows, He loves, He cares;
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives the very best to those
Who leave the choice to Him.”
